Building for What Comes Next: Expanding illumynt’s Ohio Operations

Technology infrastructure is changing quickly. See how illumynt’s expanded Ohio operations are building capacity for AI and advanced compute lifecycle requirements.

Technology infrastructure is changing quickly. AI workloads, increasingly powerful GPUs, higher-density compute environments and new approaches to cooling are changing not only how infrastructure is deployed, but also what happens to that equipment throughout—and at the end of—its useful life.

The technology lifecycle has to evolve with it.

That’s why illumynt is expanding our Columbus-area operations to approximately 200,000 square feet, creating additional capacity for the engineering, technology and recovery capabilities required to manage increasingly complex technology assets.

More Than Additional Space

The expansion is about much more than increasing processing capacity.

As the value and complexity of technology assets increase, determining their highest-value next use requires a deeper level of technical understanding. Traditional approaches built primarily around processing and disposition are no longer enough.

Advanced diagnostics can help distinguish equipment that should be redeployed or resold from assets that can be repaired, refurbished or recovered at the component level. Better data and asset intelligence can provide greater visibility into those decisions and the financial and environmental outcomes they create.

Our expanded Ohio operations are being built around that model.

The additional capacity will allow illumynt to scale engineering-grade diagnostics and testing, repair and refurbishment, component recovery, secure processing, serialized asset tracking, value optimization and sustainability reporting.

It will also provide additional capacity to advance Talorem®, illumynt’s proprietary technology platform for asset identification, diagnostics, repair, component recovery and lifecycle intelligence.

An Environment for Innovation

The expanded campus will also include illumynt’s Innovation Center, a dedicated environment where our engineering teams can develop, test and scale new approaches before moving them into production.

That becomes increasingly important as the infrastructure entering the technology lifecycle changes.

Liquid cooling is one example. As high-performance compute environments move toward liquid-cooled architectures, testing and diagnostics must increasingly account for the thermal conditions under which that equipment was designed to operate.

Creating the ability to evaluate these systems more accurately can provide a clearer understanding of component condition, performance and potential remaining value—particularly for high-value GPU and compute hardware.

And liquid cooling is only one example of the technical changes occurring across the infrastructure landscape.

Moving Beyond Traditional ITAD

For illumynt, the Ohio expansion represents another step in a broader evolution.

The traditional ITAD model has largely focused on what happens once an organization decides it no longer needs an asset: receive it, secure it, determine whether it can be resold and responsibly recycle what remains.

That work remains important. But increasingly complex and valuable infrastructure creates an opportunity to do more.

The question becomes not simply, “How do we dispose of this asset?”

It becomes, “What is the highest-value next use for this technology?”

Answering that question requires engineering expertise, diagnostics, repair capabilities, component-level recovery, market intelligence and data that can follow an asset through the process.

That is the lifecycle model we are continuing to build.

Building for What Comes Next

Our expanded Ohio operations give us the physical scale to continue developing that model, while Talorem provides the technology foundation to support it.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more about Talorem and the technologies behind our approach to identification, qualification, repair, component recovery and lifecycle intelligence.

Because as the infrastructure changes, the way we recover its value needs to change with it.
